Dr. Michelle Woodward, Audiologist
Doctor of Audiology
Dr. Michelle Woodward is a native of Clarksville, Missouri. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Communication Disorders from Truman State University in 1997 and her Master of Science degree in Audiology from Western Illinois University in 2000. Following her training, Dr. Woodward was hired as a clinical audiologist at the University of Missouri Hospital and Clinics in Columbia, Missouri. While at the University Hospital and Clinics, she treated patients of all ages and with varying degrees of hearing loss with hearing aids and cochlear implants for over 8 years.
In 2008, she joined Dr. James Benecke at Otology Associates, Inc. and the BJC Medical Group where she continued to use her training and expertise to evaluate individuals’ hearing loss so that the best option for hearing rehabilitation could be achieved. In addition, she provided full diagnostic evaluations for balance and dizziness. In 2015, Dr. Woodward received her Clinical Doctorate from Arizona School of Health Sciences. She is currently the owner of Woodward Audiology, LLC on the 4th floor of the Gutensohn Clinic in Kirksville, Missouri.
Her varied clinical experience, knowledge gained from hundreds of hours of continued education, and passion for helping people enable Dr. Woodward to offer her patients the highest level of hearing healthcare. She is currently certified by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association and maintains a fellowship with the American Academy of Audiology. She is also an active member of Rotary International- Kirksville Noon Club and Quota International of Kirksville. When not in the office, Dr. Woodward can be found spending time with her husband and two daughters, running, and following Mizzou football.
Doctor of Audiology
Mariah Richard joined our Woodward Audiology team in July 2017 as an audiology resident. She graduated from Truman State with her B.A. in Communication Sciences and Disorders and then continued on to pursue her Doctorate of Audiology (Au.D.) from the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign. Upon graduating with her Au.D. this May, she will continue working with us as a full-time audiologist. Mariah grew up in the small rural town of Perry, Illinois, which is about 30 minutes southeast of Quincy. She is currently a member of the National Student Speech Language Hearing Academy (NSSLHA) and the Student Academy of Audiology (SAA). During the past 3 years, Mariah has had over 1000 hours of hands-on clinical experience with a variety of patient ages and populations. Additionally, hearing loss runs in her immediate family, so she is proficient in American Sign Language. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, working in the garden, riding four-wheelers, and playing with her Australian Shepherd, Ryder.
Dana Kimmel has been with Woodward Audiology since September 2015 after receiving her Audiology Assistant Certification from the State of Missouri. She currently manages our walk-in hearing aid clinic. Prior to working in the field of audiology, she worked for 11 years in a general medicine practice office. Dana is a 1988 graduate of Putnam County R-I High School. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, reading and quilting. Dana resides in La Plata, Missouri.
Licensed Hearing Instrument Specialist
Steven is a Licensed Hearing Instrument Specialist and has been in practice since October 2014. Steven graduated from Ozarks Technical Community College in the fall of 2014 and has since practiced as a licensed hearing healthcare provider in both West Virginia and Missouri. Steven and his wife Angie live in Cameron and have 3 children. He is delighted to join the team at Woodward Audiology and is devoted to serving the community with excellent care. Steven will be running our offices in Trenton, Albany, and our newest location opening in Cameron MO.
Diana Hocker has been with Woodward Audiology since April of 2014. She currently serves as the Office Manager. Diana has worked in the medical field for over 30 years. She is a graduate from Kirksville High School and is currently a resident of rural Novinger, Missouri. She enjoys dancing, gardening, reading, spending time with her family, friends, and pets, and is an active advocate for breast cancer awareness.
Angie is a student in the Hearing Instrument Science program at Ozarks Technical Community College and anticipating graduation in the Spring of 2018. Angie will currently be our office administrator for our Cameron, Trenton, and Albany offices and looks forward to getting to know our clients.
Jordan began working for Woodward Audiology in the Fall of 2017. She currently serves as an administrative assistant in our Kirksville office and in several of our satellite clinics. Prior to joining our team, she in the Hyvee pharmacy for 8 years. She is a graduate of Truman State University with a Bachelor of Science in Health Science. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, and crafting. She lives in Greentop, MO.
